Pros: one of the most soulful, heartfelt albums ever recorded
Cons: not a conventional jazz album; therefore not recommended for jazz neophytes
The Bottom Line: A widely regarded jazz classic. If you are a jazz fan, this album belongs in your collection.

Pros: Praise be, this is Coltrane's most intense hour in the studio
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: Not an inventive peak -- but not intended to be. Coltrane marshalls invention and intensifies it in the name of Truth.
