Pros: Better production and more maturity than Kill 'Em All, many classic Metallica songs, improving vocals.
Cons: Production is still a bit muddy, vocals are still a bit young-sounding, a little short.
The Bottom Line: Ride The Lightning is easily one of Metallica's best albums, as well as arguably their most revolutionary and it is without a doubt a heavy metal landmark.

Pros: Solid guitars, gorgeous lyrics, great drums.
Cons: If you're the patient type, you won't get to your favorite song (long tracks)
The Bottom Line: The true Metallica experience, RtL provides metal heads and soft rockers alike with something to love.

Pros: Dazzling song writing ability at such an early age...Well thought out themes.
Cons: A few weaker tracks...Escape, easily worse than anything on the Loads...IMO.
The Bottom Line: A hint of the upcoming masterful "Master of Puppets" (ha!)
with one foot still firmly entrenched in thrash metal and an eye to the future...a can't miss album. Buy it!
